What is actually in the library?
24,022 Sri Lankan judgments and 2,989 Acts and consolidated enactments, searched on the facts of a question rather than on a citation. It grows; the Research screen says what arrived in the last seven days.
What it does, what it refuses to do, what it costs and what happens to a firm’s papers. If yours is not here, write to hi@lawpal.lk.

No. Every proposition carries the judgment, the section or the paper it came from, and where the material does not answer the question it says so instead of filling the gap. An answer with no citation reads exactly like an answer with one, which is why a tool that guesses confidently is more dangerous to a practice than one that says it does not know.
Each authority carries the citator’s verdict, so a case that has been departed from is marked rather than quietly served to you. The Authority screen re-checks what your firm has actually relied on.
We hold what we hold, and the reading names the amendments this library has for that Act, above the summary rather than under it. It is not a complete amendment history - check the official text before relying on it. A confident empty list would be the dangerous version of that feature.
Yes. Ask in any of the three, and set the language answers come back in on Settings. Case names, citations and Act titles stay in English exactly as the reporters print them.
It knows which matter a date belongs to, who is appearing, and that a person listed in two courts on the same morning is a problem. It tells you before - in the bell, by email, by text or on WhatsApp - and it can be subscribed to from the calendar you already use.
You give the date the cause of action arose and pick a standard period; the clock is arithmetic on that. It warns at sixty days, thirty, fourteen and then daily, and a date landing on a weekend or on a day you have told us your courts are shut moves to the next working day and says on its face why it moved. It is a reminder, not an opinion on whether a claim is in time.
55 Sri Lankan instruments, from a plaint to a deed of transfer, filled in by interview. The preview is free and re-renders as you type; you are charged when you finish the document, on the pages it actually produced. Stamp duty is worked out beside the consideration as a working, not an assessment.
That is what a review table is: one question asked of every file in a folder, with the clause each answer came from beside it. A checklist review does the same against criteria you type, and can be kept as a playbook so the next one is not retyped.
Never. Approving a draft marks it ready for a person to take to the registry, and that is the whole of it. There is no automation in this product that sends a document to a court or to another party.
Your firm, and the people in it you allow. A sensitive matter can be closed to everyone but the people named on it, and it then returns “not found” to anybody else rather than “forbidden” - the existence of the matter is itself the thing being kept.
No, and we do not use them to answer another firm’s question. The security page lists every processor and exactly what it handles.
Settings has an export of everything the firm holds - matters, notes, dates, clocks, drafts and the ledger - and a separate, final button that deletes the account. The export is offered before the deletion on purpose.
As long as you choose: for as long as the account exists, a year, six months, three months or one month, set on Settings. Anything older is deleted nightly. The prose of an answer is never stored at all.
LKR 5,000 a month for one attorney with 3,300 tokens, or LKR 50,000 for a practice of up to 10 with 33,300. Larger than that is an Enterprise conversation. Topping up costs your own plan’s rate - LKR 1.50 or LKR 1.50 a token. The whole meter is on the pricing page.
Seats stay, metered actions stop, and nothing is deleted. Reading your own file stays free, so an empty balance is a pause rather than a loss.
No. Anybody can create an account, which starts on a trial. If somebody gave you a code it still carries whatever it carries - put it in the last box on the form.
Please do not. One account is one person: sharing a login makes the audit log meaningless, and that log is the record that protects the firm.
An account takes a confirmation email and no card. Or write to us first and a person will answer.
