Refund policy
A plan is monthly and tokens are consumable, so most of this is short. The part that matters is what happens when the product charged you for something it got wrong.
Plans
A plan is monthly - LKR 5,000 on Single, LKR 50,000 on Firm - and is not pro-rated when you leave it: it runs to the end of the month you have paid for, and nobody is charged again. We do not bill annually, so there is no long prepayment to unwind.
If you paid for a month, used none of it, and tell us within 14 days, we will refund that month. Write to us and say so - we will not ask you to justify it.
Tokens
Tokens are consumed the moment work is done - LKR 1.50 each on Single, LKR 1.50 on Firm - and spent tokens are not refundable. Unspent tokens in a top-up are refundable within 14 days of the purchase, less anything already spent from it.
When the product got it wrong
If we charged you for work the product failed to do, we put the tokens back. A draft that came out empty, a review that read nothing because a file had no readable text, a reminder charged and not sent, a search that errored after the charge. You should not have to argue about this: tell us what it was and we will credit it.
A charge for work the product did do is not refundable for being unwelcome - a search that found nothing useful still read the corpus, and a document you decided not to use was still produced. Every line of spend is on the usage screen and downloads as a spreadsheet, so you can always see exactly what was charged and for what.
If we end the agreement
If we close your account on our own initiative other than for a breach of the terms, we refund the unused part of everything you have prepaid, seats and tokens alike.
How to ask
Write to hi@lawpal.lk with the firm’s name and what you want refunded. We answer within five working days and a refund goes back the way it came - to the card through PayHere, or to the bank account the transfer came from. Where a bank or gateway charges a fee to reverse a payment, that fee comes off the refund; we keep nothing of it.
